The Electrical Safety Foundation International, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting electrical safety, always has great resources and their holiday materials are especially useful at this time of year.

 

According to the National Fire Protection Association, United States fire departments responded to an annual average of 860 home structure fires that were started by holiday decorations and an additional 210 home structure fires that were started by Christmas trees between 2009-2013.
